Category C HGV Class 1
Is a rigid lorry more than 7.5 tons towing a trailer more than 750kg . Once a person has successfully passed category C only then is he allowed to progress to this category. The provisional category C+E is automatically endorsed when the licence is sent to the DVLA to get category C added. No further theory test is required on this category.
This category was previously known as HGV class1 before 1990.
