Category C1

Category C1 is a rigid vehicle between 3.5 to 7.5 tons. People who passed their car test before 1997 were automatically given this license. People who passed after 1997 who want to drive over 3.5 tons or a very small van will have to pass a seperate test. lly recommended for people under 21 and are keen to get on the transport ladder. This category is not recommended to people who are over 21 because the cost of getting this category could be very similar to category C, which is the next category.

Category C1+E

Category C1+E is a rigid vehicle between 3.5 to 7.5 which can tow a trailer up to 750kg. Trailers which are more than 750kg and up to 4.5 tons require an additional test to be taken.
